What is Shoulder Tendinitis?
Tendinitis is the inflammation or irritation of the tissue that connects muscle to bones in the shoulder which causes pain and discomfort. Shoulder tendinitis takes place in either the rotator cuff or biceps tendons. Shoulder tendinitis can be classified in two categories:
- Acute tendinitis – brought on suddenly by repetitive overhead motions
- Chronic tendinitis – brought on by a degenerative disease such as osteoarthritis or through general “wear and tear” over time

- Weak musculature
- Improper shoulder mechanics
- Strenuous training
